Betrayal by Trust

Trust is when you care enough

to place unconditional love, support, and devotion

into another being for their benefit and well-being.

Then, and only then,

you may realize they abandoned you —

using you and abusing the very fact

that you trusted them not to do so.

You place your good energy into it all,

sharing your knowledge, your spirit,

and the miracles of life you perform for them.

Yet in return,

you receive nothing from the selfless deeds

you gave so freely.

At the short end of the stick you remain,

while they prosper further and forevermore.

But the Universe has its own correction for such things —

Action and Reaction.

The Universe works in such a way

that when one acts toward another with betrayal,

the Universe reacts in return.

Punishing the very core

of the conspiracy in which they now drown.

Some call it bad luck.

Others call it…

a betrayal of trust.

"The Universe has its own correction for such things — Action and Reaction."
